چکیده

Non volatile memories have in recent years become an established component of all electronic systems, especially portable systems. The general trend towards a higher level of integration and speed are pushing towards their integration with complex logic – embedded nonvolatile memory. Non Volatile memory research in the NMRC, which was stimulated by a Marie Curie Fellowship, has focused on the model development which has facilitated the use simulation in the exploration and analysis of advanced embedded flash memory solutions.

Low-Energy Heterogeneous Non-Volatile Memory Systems for Mobile Systems

Memory systems consume significant energy in hand-held embedded systems. Existing techniques for reducing memory energy requirements in low-power systems have addressed energy consumption when the system is turned on; but we also consider data retention energy during the power-off period. Semiconductor non-volatile memory is indispensable for hand-held devices that cannot afford magnetic disks ...

Simulation of Non-Volatile Memory Cells by Accounting for Inelastic Trap-Assisted Tunneling Current

A new model for the simulation of physical inelastic trap-assisted tunneling has been implemented in the device simulator MINIMOS-NT. It is based on a recently published model for multi-phonon transitions between trapped and detrapped electronic states. We show that the numerical solution of the Schrödinger equation can be approximated by analytical expressions, avoiding the need for numerical ...

Effects of the asymmetric behavior of the shape memory alloy on nonlinear dynamic responses of thick sandwich plates with embedded SMA wires

In the present article, the dynamic behavior of sandwich plates with embedded shape memory alloy (SMA) wires is evaluated for two cases wherein (i) the stress-strain curve of the superelastic behavior of the SMA wires is symmetric and (ii) the mentioned curve is non-symmetric. A modified version of Brinson’s constitutive model is proposed and used. The high non-linearity in the behavior stems f...
